Which Airport: Kahului or Kapalua?

Aloha,
I have a question, I am in Oahu currently and would like to visit maui for 2 days. Do I take a flight to Maui - Kahului or Kapalua?
I would like to see the Haleakala sunrise and tour to Hana.... Please advise. Mahalo.... Regards,
Megha VaishnavFly to Kahului. Kapalua is much more expensive to fly into. If you're staying on the west side (Kapalua, Lahaina, Kaanapali), rent a car or get a shuttle to your hotel. It's about an hour drive from the airport, but you'll be saving BIG BUCKS. If you're staying on the west side and can get a good price to Kapalua, then go for it. If you plan on doing the Road to Hana and Sunrise at Haleakala, it would be wiser to stay on the South Side of Maui.
For Haleakala, you can rent a car, or you can do a tour. We love the Maui bike tour with Haleakala Bike Company 1-888-922-2453 . They'll drive you up to the summit, you watch the sunrise, then they give you a bike and all the gear you need at the base of Haleakala National Park. finally, you cruise down miles of downhill countryside at your own pace. It's a great trip.For Hana, I suggest renting a car and following these important Road to Hana Tips.I hope this helps you, Megha! Have a great trip!Best Wishes,
