Best Maui Boardwalks
There are plenty of beaches to walk on in Maui. But what if you have a stroller with a baby, or you don't feel like walking through sand the whole time? What if you're looking for an opportunity to stop here and there for cocktails and/or food? Well, there are a few great options.
One of our favorite boardwalks is in Kaanapali. You can walk from Hanakao'o Beach Park all the way to Duke's Beachhouse Restaurant next to the Aston Mahana and Honua Kai Konea hotels. It's a long walk with many resorts in front of it. You also wrap around the Sheraton at Black Rock. If you walk from one end to the other, you're looking at at least an hour each way. Some of it will be covered by trees, but most of it runs alongside the ocean and offers full sun.
There are plenty of spots to stop for drinks and food. We love this walk for sunset or in the early morning when the sun isn't as strong. When on the south side, there's a similar long walk along the ocean in Wailea. You have to cross beaches here and there, but a lot of it is composed of paved path along the water and resorts.
Cliff Diving at Black Rock
"This famous dark lava rock promontory is named Pu'u Keka'a in Hawaiian, which translates as "the rolling hill." To this day, it is revered as a sacred spot known as "ka leina a ka 'uhane" - the plae where a soul leaps into eternity.
On of Maui's most acclaimed high chiefs was Kahekili (ruled circa 1766-1793,) who excelled in the game of "lele kawa," or cliff jumping. He gained respect from many warriors for his leaps from Pu'u Keka'a, as most were frightened of the spirits who lived in the area."
The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa is built into the beach side of Black Rock. each night you can watch the torch lighting ceremony and cliff dive.
Kahului Airport Transportation
There are plenty of shuttle services from the Kahului Airport, most of which have car seats for infants. You can get a shuttle from the airport without reservations, but it's smart to book ahead so that you can be certain you get an infant/Toddler seat. (Make sure you get the correct sized seat too! Might want to call them.)
Taxi's are available, but they usually cost more. You'll have to speak with the individual taxi company to find out whether they can help you with a seat. Sharing a ride on a shuttle is usually the best way to do it (other than renting a car in Maui.) Keep in mind that different distances from the airport usually cost different amounts. Make sure your price is set before booking. Also, see if you can find out how many other drop-offs there will be. If you're sharing, and a west side shuttle will be dropping off in Wailea too, it might be worth not sharing. It could take a long time to get to your hotel. ALSO, know that the ride from the airport to Kaanapali Beach is not 30 minutes. You're looking at around an hour. If your shuttle makes a lot of stops, it could be a lot more. You should also inquire with your hotel/resort to see if they provide shuttle service. If they have shuttle service from the airport, it might be worth a few extra bucks to go directly to your hotel.The following are some shuttles that will furnish car seats.

My husband and I and Baby are visiting Maui in August. We are going to Kaanapali beach, and not hiring a car, so wanting to organise transfers or taxis of some sort to our hotel from the airport. Can you give me any info on these options and also do taxis come with baby seats if ordered? We really don't want to hold our baby for a half hour drive.
Any information would be appreciated.

Lucky in Kaanapali
We were fortunate enough to spend the weekend with friends in Kaanapali this weekend. The weather cleared up and left us with stunning, vivid views of Molokai and Lanai while we surfed, sunned, and drank cocktails in tourist paradise. It's so nice to get away and enjoy this island like a visitor. We'll be doing it again real soon!!

The beach in front of the Kaanapali Hyatt Resort
This is a panoramic taken at the Hyatt in Kaanapali, Maui, Hawaii just after taking a class in photoshop at the Maui Photo Festival. The lectures and demonstrations were incredibly helpful this year. We especially enjoyed Jim Divitale. Mahalo for everything!

This panoramic of Kaanapali was taken a few hours ago in front of the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa in West Maui, Hawaii. This is one of our favorite ones because of the bright greens and blues of the ocean. We've been really enjoying the Maui Photo Festival and have obviously been inspired to shoot more photography.
